How Much Does Wedding Hair and Makeup Cost?

Weddings

This is probably our most asked question at 614 Beauty! It’s totally understandable that you want to save money on your big day (nothing wrong with a frugal bride). The cost of all the wedding details certainly add up quickly, but wedding makeup and hair can work for your budget and will be so worth it in the end.  We’re just going to make this nice and easy for you. We got you bride!

Average Costs

It’s important to note that when you book your hair and makeup team for your wedding, you aren't just paying to have your makeup done. You are paying for their years of expertise and experience, schooling, up to date products, and professionalism. We know, you know the value of bridal makeup so we won’t spend anymore time on that! Now that’s out of the way, we’ll give you the goods! How much is this going to cost?

In the U.S., the average cost of wedding hair and makeup for the bride is around $350, with the range anywhere from $150-$600. The cost depends on the intricacy and location. Obviously hair and makeup in say, LA, will cost you more than it does here in Columbus, but the national average comes pretty close to what it will cost for Columbus bridal makeup and hair.

Potential Add-ons

With all beauty services, there is potential for add-ons; bridal makeup is no exception. Make sure to take some of these into account if they apply to you because they can increase the amount you expect to spend.

Additional Clients

This one is a no-brainer, but if you have additional people needing hair and makeup, it’s going to cost you per person. Having your bridal party receive services with you is a great opportunity for bonding and relaxation before the rest of the wedding day.

If your party is bigger than 5-6 people or you have time constraints, you’ll also need to pay for more than one artist.

Extra/Premium Services

Many wedding makeup and hair companies will charge extra for things like false lashes and airbrush style makeup. These things are included in the price at 614 Beauty (yay us!).

Touch Ups/Additional Hours

If you require your artist for your entire wedding, meaning you want them on hand for touch-ups, this will also cost extra, based on the amount of hours you will want your artist to be with you.

Travel

Some brides want their artists to come on location instead of coming into the studio. Most bridal makeup companies will charge extra for their time and travel. Make sure you are communicating this because some artists will have travel restrictions defending on the distance or will charge based on the mileage.

Trial

We 100% recommend having a bridal makeup trial so you can be confident in your wedding look before your big day. Trials typically happen a few months before your wedding and give you the opportunity to test out your look.

The average cost of a trial in Columbus is between $125-$200.

Tips

This one is a cost that many tend to forget when budgeting. With most beauty services, the recommendation is 15-20%. If your artist did an amazing job, show them how much you appreciate them with a thoughtful tip.

614 Beauty is transparent with our pricing and is always on hand to answer any questions you might have. You can see our pricing guide and get an accurate quote when you book with us so you can feel confident that your whole bridal makeup and hair experience will be fantastic!
